Genyodectes is a ceratosaur known from very fragmentary remains. The only known elements consist of partial jaws. That said, these are a good match for Ceratosaurus, to which it is believed to have been a close relative of. Based on the known fossils, Genyodectes was probably comparable to Ceratosaurus at about 20 feet in length and around 1 ton in weight. Genyodectes lived in South America around 112 million years ago, making it among the last known ceratosaurs with the exception of the related abelisaurs.
