Balaur is a poorly understood possible dromaeosaur. This potential cousin of Velociraptor appears to have had not one, but two killing claws on each foot. It was about the same size as Velociraptor at 5-6 feet long and about 50-75 pounds. A number pf studies have been conducted in an attempt to figure out the placement of Balaur in the dinosaurian family tree. It may be closer to birds than the traditional nonavian dinosaurs. This dinosaur lived in Europe around 70 million years ago.
