Elasmosaurus is one of the largest plesiosaurs yet discovered. This North American giant was nearly 46-50 feet long and weighed over 3-6 tons. Despite their size, these reptiles ate mostly small fish and the occasional shellfish. Many fossils indicate attacks from other giant predators like mosasaurs. Elasmosaurus lived about 70 million years ago.
