Shonisaurus is perhaps the largest icthyosaur that ever lived. It reached an impressive 43 feet long and weighed over 15-20 tons. These giants likely fed on squid and small fish. When Shonisaurus was around, there weren't any predators big enough to take one down. They dominated the seas of North America roughly 220 million years ago.
